Templates can be customized in any of the following ways:
Colors
Order the template with the "+color change" option, and all aspects of the design, including accessories and special touches, will be made over with colors of your own choosing.
Background Patterns
Not crazy about the pattern on the sample template? Not to worry. If you order the "+color change" option, you have several options for changing it:
1. You can shop for something from iStock (I promise you'll find about eight millions options to fall in love with), either using your own search, or browsing through my own favorites. If you find one you like, jot down the file number - but please only choose either a seamless vector illustration without gradient, or a swatch (such as of fabric or some other texture). Then add the iStock Background option to your cart from the extras & options page. When I get in touch after your receiving your order, tell me the file number, and how you'd like the pattern recolored/resized (if at all). Additional fee applies.
2. You can search for and pick out a background pattern on your own, from any of the sites listed in here. If you find one you like, just download a swatch and send it to me after I get in touch when your order comes in. I'll apply the finished file (.jpg, .gif or .png) to your template at no additional cost.
3. You can choose another background pattern from any of the sample templates, and I'll make the switch for no additional cost, if you'd like the exact same pattern, or a small fee, if you'd like the same pattern but in another color. If you're not crazy about anything currently in use, I also have a pretty ginormous collection of other patterns to choose from, after you place your order. Just let me know when I get in touch (after your order has been placed) that you'd like to see the pattern library, and I'll send you a link.
4. If you already have a background pattern from your existing website or other branding materials, I can apply that to your template, as well. As long as you can provide a finished, seamless tile, there's no additional fee for that. Just send it over after I get in touch when I receive your order.
And remember, a pattern can also be applied in interesting places, like behind sidebars (such as on the Emmeline) or in the comments section (such as on the Evelyn)!
Fonts
There's never a fee to change fonts for either any of the design elements of the template (such as the header, post signature, personalized pagination) or the blog body (text, post titles, etc.) You'll find some resources for fonts - as well as a list of web-safe options for your blog's body - right here. If you'd like any changes of font, you can just let me know what you have in mind when I get in touch after receiving your order. But please narrow your choices down to one or two. If you need to, you can preview how your title will look in a certain font on MyFonts.com.
As a general rule, when I'm adapting a professional website into a coordinating blog, I go ahead and change all of the template fonts to match that website. Yay for coordination!
Layout
Like a template, but want its elements rearranged or altered (columns widened, etc.)? No problem. Just let me know what would suit you better, and I'll provide you with an estimate. Very small changes to column width are usually free of charge, but more dramatic structural changes (moving, adding, or removing columns) are subject to additional cost. I can also create custom layouts and "Frankenblogs" (if you'd like aspects of various templates combined).
Matching Sidebar Titles

Special Touches
Favicons, post dividers, and title icons (more info about those soon!) are all simple but highly impactful ways to style your blog. Take a peek at the extras & options page for visuals about these options, and then do some creative brainstorming on the ideas & inspirations page. Additional fees may apply.
Alignment, Border Styles, and Capitalization
Got a thing for right-justified, lowercase sidebar titles? (Me too!) Dying for a dashed divider? No problem. There's no charge for me to change the alignment settings of your titles, to set the capitalization of your titles (so for instance if you'd like everything to be locked into a lowercase style), or basic border styles (straight, dashed, or dotted lines) of your "+color changed" template. Just let me know what you'd like!
Logo/Branding Incorporation
If you already have an existing logo or professional brand, I can easily incorporate these designs into one of the templates. I can bring over whatever colors, background patterns, and font schemes you're currently using, and if you'd like, work your design elements into the template via post dividers, title icons, background images, etc. Additional fees may apply.
The Bottom Line
I'm more than happy to work with you on modifying a template, as long as you can provide a clear, specific design blueprint for what you'd like. (This doesn't have to be, like, literally a blueprint - though mockups help enormously!)
If you're looking for a more traditional custom design experience, are unsure of what you'd like your blog to look like, or would prefer the ability to work more slowly through a design (read: several revisions, lots of options presented and worked through), this probably isn't the best option for your blog makeover. But if you've already done the lion's share of creative thinking for your blog, and you just need someone to execute your vision, I'm your gal!
