how to configure your navigation menu

When I install your navigation menu, I'll set it up with "blank" menu titles and URLs for you to fill out. It'll look like this:

<div id="newnavbar"><ul>
<li><a href="URL OF TITLE ONE"> title one</a></li>
<li><a href="URL OF TITLE TWO"> title two</a></li>
<li><a href="URL OF TITLE THREE"> title three</a></li>
<li><a href="URL OF TITLE FOUR">title four</a></li>

To configure the menu, replace the sections in PINK with your menu titles. Then replace the sections in GREEN with the URLs (http://... addresses) that go with these titles, making sure to leave the quotes intact. Here's an example:

<div id="newnavbar"><ul>
<li><a href="">shop</a></li>
<li><a href=""> about me</a></li>
<li><a href=""> twitter</a></li>
<li><a href="">tips</a></li>

Any URL can be used as a link in your menu, including individual posts on your blog, other websites, or labels (also called "tags" or "categories") from your blog. If you've never configured a navigation menu before, don't worry! It's fairly easy, and here's some more help:

HERE are instructions on how to use a post-page from your blog as a menu link.

If you'd like clicking on a menu title to launch a new browser window, add target="_blank" just before href.

To use a menu title as a direct contact button (such that clicking on the word "contact" will open the visitor's email application and start a new email message directed to you) change "URL OF TITLE X" to "", replacing the code with your email. Then change title x to contact or email me, etc.

When I install the menu, it will include space for four titles and links. If you accidentally delete the menu gadget, simply copy and paste the following code into an HTML/JavaScript widget:

If you'd like more than four titles, you can simply copy/paste the following codes for five, six, and seven links into the HTML/JavaScript widget:
